"Boys Fishing on Levee" contemporary figurative painting

Here is the poem I am writing for this painting in "Riverson, The Painted Book."

Boys Fishing on Levee

Spring rise
and the River in flood.
Water clean up
to the grass of the levee.
White egrets on a cow's back,
eating ticks.
Boys fishing,
barefoot at the water's edge.
Twilight.
