"After the Rain" contemporary figurative painting

After the rain, a view behind Uncle Tee's house, where great grandma and grandpa lived up in the the hills, from memory.

I went to bed very disappointed, simply because this was yet another painting done from imagination and memory instead of working from a model or photo. However, when I looked at it
the next day, I was almost overcome by how much I liked it.  I think it captures the essence of the place, which was what mattered most to me.
